INPUT MODULES

PUSHBUTTON or KEYPAD DECODER MODULE

Decodes up to 32 multiplexed push-buttons or keypad
Standard keypads available: 16 position (4 x 4), 20 position (4 x 5),
40 position (4 x 10)

MOTION DETECTOR MODULES

RF Detector • Detects changes in an invisible field.
IR Detector • Detects changes in Infrared light levels
Sonar Ranger • Sends and receives sounds waves to determine distance to solid objects up to 30 feet.

POINTING DEVICE MODULE

Joystick • Converts input from analog or digital joystick for use by controllers or PCs.
Trackball • Converts input from ruggedized trackballs for use by controllers or PCs

ENVIRONMENTAL SENSORS MODULE

These modules interface the controller with various real world sensors (e.g. light, temperature, humidity and force sensors).

WIRELESS INPUT RECEIVER MODULE

RF receiver • Receives radio signals from RF transmitters. Two channels with optional multiple channels.
Infrared receiver • Receives infrared light signals from IR transmitters. Multiple channels.

WIRELESS TRANSMITTER MODULE

IR transmitter • InfraRed light transmitter similar to a remote control for a TV or VCR. Used in conjunction with IR receiver.
RF transmitter • Hand held key chain type Radio Frequency transmitter with two buttons (channels). Used in conjunction with RF receiver.

OPTOELECTRONIC SENSOR MODULE

Reflective and interrupter sensors detect objects in close proximity.

COMPASS MODULE

Low resolution electro/magnetic compass with 8 ordinate position (45 degrees) resolution.
High resolution electro/magnetic compass with 1 degree resolution.

OUTPUT MODULES

AUDIO REPEATER MODULE (Digital Voice Portfolio)

Record & Playback • Records & Plays 10 to 90 seconds of voice and/or sounds.

Playback Only • Plays prerecorded (digitized) sounds from a semipermanent EPROM storage.

Multiple sound segment •

SolidAudio
1-8 Direct Input Segments, Good Quality sound up to 6 minutes
1-8 Direct Input Segments, Near CD Quality sound up to 90 minutes
FlashAudio
1-8 Direct Input Segments, Near CD Quality sound up to 6 minutes mono (with 32Meg card)
1-8 Direct Input Segments, Near CD Quality sound up to 6 minutes stereo (with 64Meg card)

Phoneme based speech • Module pronounces words based on text entered (English or Spanish pronunciation).

LOW VOLTAGE LAMP/LED INTERFACE MODULE

This module individually controls up to 32 low voltage (5-25 volt) lamps or LEDs per module.

ALPHA/NUMERIC DISPLAY MODULES

LCD controller • Liquid Crystal Display controller displays alpha/numeric information on various size LCDs.
LED controller • Light Emitting Diode display controller displays alpha/numeric information on various size LED displays (digits up to 5" high).

MOTOR CONTROLLER MODULE

Stepper motor controller • precision control of 2 to 4 uni-pole stepper motors
DC motor controller • speed and direction control of 2 DC motors.
Servo Motor controller • controls 2 standard servo motors.

SOLID STATE RELAY MODULE

Power/Con Provides digital control of four AC (Alternating Current) devices, such as flood lamps, AC motors and blowers.

WIRELESS TRANSMITTER MODULE

IR transmitter InfraRed light transmitter modules transmit coded signals to an infrared receiver up to 30 feet away.

RF transmitter • Radio Frequency transmitter modules transmit coded signals to an RF receiver up to 100 feet away.

PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLLER MODULE

Basic Sequencer Module This module is an inexpensive programmable sequencer/controller. The Basic Sequencer can be programmed to provide simple repetitive sequence signals or complex interactions between an exhibit and the user.

GameWorksThis module is an inexpensive programmable controller for use in interactive displays and exhibits. GameWorks is intended to be used as a simple interactive game controller.

Modular Controller This module provides powerful intelligent control to any interactive system. The proprietary interactive Small Area Network (iSAN) allows the Modular Controller to communicate and control multiple input and output modules using a standardized wiring system.

PC INTERFACE MODULES

PC Interface modules connect a personal computer to the programmable controller or directly to the various input or output modules.

Intelligent Interface Module • The I2M is a Personal Computer to real-world interface. I2M allows PCs and MACs to receive information from or send control signals to external electronic devices.

INNOVA PUTS IT TOGETHER

The information above is presented for reference only. While some modules are available individually, most are intended for inclusion in a complete system. INNOVA uses these module to assemble a ready-to-install interactive system to meet your exhibit's particular needs. If you have a project which you feel would benefit from interactive electronics, contact use by phone at (800) 417-9060 for a free feasibility consultation.
